If you've heard us talk about why we started the Magical Mindset Moments Podcast you know that connection is a big deal for us.

Coming out of the pandemic, a lot of people are talking about the importance of connecting with others. And while we're clearly in full support of that (Hi Magic Family! ::waves::), we believe that genuine connection with others actually starts inside with our connection to ourselves.

And one way we connect with ourselves is by prioritizing our time with the activities and interests that we are genuinely passionate about.

There is much that can get in the way of partaking of those joy-bringing things. Some may be benign and some may be emotionally distressing.

For parents, the day-to-day chaos of caring for your kids can make it challenging to still engage with the things you love to do. After all, when there's a lot that feels like it must be done (now, faster, and please bring snacks!), it's difficult to prioritize things that don't allow you to cross of another to do on that list.

In other instances, we cut off the passions because the memories they evoke are simply too painful to be reckoned with.

Enter Mama Imelda.

Her journey from music lover, to walk-away musician hater, and back again can teach us a thing or two about the power of passions to connect with ourselves and with the most important people in our lives.
